So far the only way to get the CD/DVD device to open is to log out of the current Windows session. Selecting "Unmount host." from the VBox CD icon context menu only generates error messages about how it cannot do that, and helpful messages like "VERR_DEV_IO_ERROR". Worse, windows reloads the drive and if it has autorun in it, it starts the autorun, sometimes multiple times. Using the windows method of RMB'ing on the drive icon and selecting "Eject" does not do so. Once a Windows guest has accessed a CD/DVD drive, it is impossible to eject it.
