There are matching or better regular/unique weapons. Rune weapons are generally not worth it now, especially with the 2 qualis gem upgrade cost. The enchanted weapons are again great, but if we're talking bang for your buck better stick to standard Noldor weaponry and use high quality troops than invest 2-5 gems in an individual performance boost.Note that it's based on 3.9.3 so it may be different experience from previous versions. Quigfen's inventory is amazing, but you won't be able to afford any of the really high-quality items in there.

In addition it gives you a continuous source of troops, whereas dead Noldor can't be replaced. Noldor troops are excellent, but investing early gems in knighthood orders gives you a better return - they can go toe to toe or even outperform low tier Noldor troops, and you'll get many more of them for one gem. Save it for the end-game when you have gems to spare and you can go hours without levelling - it keeps a nice sense of progression in the game. The stat increases are nice, but companions always underperform and the high level of your enemies should mean that you're literally drowning in xp. For various reasons I'd put those at a lower priority. Second one I'd probably use to found a custom CKO in another holding - the earlier you start training them, the better off you'll be.īeyond that, you can use Qualis Gems to increase your or your companions' stats, hire Noldor troops, get access to Quigfen's inventory, or get the best weapons in the game. You can get KOs without Qualis Gems, but frankly I don't think they measure up. Upgraded Silvermists are killer in sieges.

Ebony Gauntlet is supposedly a fan favourite, but I never use them - their quests have you hunting Noldor patrols. Having access to those troops speeds up the mid-game immeasurably. Shadow Legion are amazing if you're looking for suggestions. First one, I'd use to build a Knighthood Order chapter house.
